The Stephens Law Firm is the progeny of one of the oldest law firms in South King County. In 1948, A.M. “Mike” Roberts opened his law practice in downtown Renton. In 1996, Rod Stephens moved the firm to Kent. By that time the firm had evolved from the small town general practice law office that Mike Roberts started to a firm that concentrated on employment law, business law and injury law. In 2007, the firm moved to Sumner, located in the heart of the Puyallup Valley, to better serve its client base which is located throughout the state.

As part of its employment law practice, the firm counsels and represents management and employees on all aspects of the employment relationship, including sexual harassment, discrimination, investigations, training, handbook preparation, employee leave issues, ADA issues, wage and hour claims, trade secrets claims and severance agreements.

In the injury component of the practice the firm handles wrongful death, catastrophic injury and severe personal injury claims. In addition, the firm has extensive experience successfully handling claims on behalf of victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault.
